Dr. F.M. (Dick) van der Wateren, before starting as press officer for the EGU, had nearly 30 years of experience as an earth scientist. His research took him to places all over Europe, Spitsbergen, Iceland, Antarctica and Southern Africa. His research interests are glacial geology and geomorphology, polar and arid regions, climate change, structural geology and sedimentology.
His company Landforms – Science & Media www.landforms.nl specializes in science communication and is dedicated to sharing a fascination for the natural sciences with the public. Landforms presently produces a series of documentary films on geology and archeology for the Dutch television. |
